Henry was born in 1884 to parents Henry and Maria, he had two sisters Rosina and Ada plus a brother Everett the family living at 63 Francis Buildings, West St Bedminster. In 1911 Henry was working with his father as drain labourers, sister Rosina was a cigarette workers at W D & H O Wills factory.


Henry served as private No.7748 in the 1st battalion of the Worcestershire Regiment which after suffering heavy losses then combined to become the 2nd battalion of the Somerset Light Infantry. Henry was killed in action on the 6th December 1914 age 30 and has no known grave being commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial to the Missing, Belgium.
