Henry George Watkins

Henry was born in 1884 to parents Henry and Maria, he had two sisters Rosina and Ada plus a brother Everett the family living at 63 Francis Buildings, West St Bedminster. In 1911 Henry was working with his father as drain labourers, sister Rosina was a cigarette workers at W D & H O Wills factory.

Henry served as private No.7748 in the 1^st battalion of the Worcestershire Regiment which after suffering heavy losses then combined to become the 2^nd battalion of the Somerset Light Infantry. Henry was killed in action on the 6^th December 1914 age 30 and has no known grave being commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial to the Missing, Belgium.
